Jr. Varsity

Following Sunday morning worship, students gather in the youth worship room located in the Jubilee building.  After a brief time of announcements students are released into their individual classes.  We currently have 4 classes for Jr. High School students: 6th grade guys, 6th grade girls, 7 & 8th grade girls (combined), 7th & 8th grade guys (combined).  The focus of this time is to train our students into the traditions of the church in order that they might embody the practices needed to live Holy lives.

 

We begin in the main sanctuary with everyone at 6:00. Students will be dismissed from the sanctuary when the children are invited up front. Students are separated into age appropriate and gender exclusive groups.  These groups stay the same throughout the entire year.  The focus of these groups is to provide a space for confession and accountability within our lives.  Groups are no bigger than 8 students.

 

Starting at 5:30 when our game room doors open, students begin to gather and hang out with one another.  At 6:30 Jr. High School students make their way into gym for large group games.  At 7:00, Jr. High students meet in small groups with an adult leader.  This is an informal time for the leaders to connect with our students.  Groups are divided by grade and gender:  6th and 7th grade girls, 6th and 7th grade guys, 8th grade girls, 8th grade guys.  At 7:15, Jr. High students gather in the Youth Worship Room for an interactive worship service.  The focus of the night is to be an entry point into our  youth ministry.

 

The first Wednesday night of every month is an exception to the programming.  We leave NFCN and go into the community in order to serve.  During the Fall semester we will be serving at Trevecca Towers, Trevecca Health Care, Murci-Homes, and Catholic Charities Refugee Service. Students will return by 8:00pm.
